That is the city I am currently in, Anhui is the provence I am in! Wow, it's exciting to be here. After I was on a plane all day yesterday and some this morning. Don't get me wrong, we spent the night in a hotel in Beijing last night because there wasn't another connecting flight til this morning. Oh Boy! Do I have so many stories to share with you!
First, my dad (papa) was quarantined in Japan for a half an hour! On the plane we were almost there they said when we get there do not unbuckle the Japanese government will be coming aboard. That automatically says woah somethings going on. When they got on board they were in scrubs, goggles, masks, and gloves. They looked like we had a virus that would kill them upon breath or contact. Then they had this Camera/ Thermal Imager. Those things are ugly and huge. They were walking around and sometimes would take a picture with it. Well then they came back and were putting stickers on some people like little red dots on there hands. Well my dad got one and had to stay. So we got off and went to find our next plane. We had to go even if he had to stay, he would find a way there we had faith. Well then while we were waiting for our next flight we saw him get off. In turns out that the guy a few rows over and in front of us was sick, so anyone in a 3 seat radius got stickered and had to stay. It was interesting. Then in china we had to fill out the same forms. Fortunately, we didn't have to stay on the plane. The fourteen hour flight from Detroit to Tokyo, then the four hour flight from Tokyo to Beijing was enough. We went through customs, then baggage claim, then finally found our guide! After we went to our hotel and chilled for the rest of the night. When we got to the hotel heather and my dads friend Dennis came with caffeine! We asked him what Hai Guan meant, because acer always says it when he's playing. It means customs so we burst out laughing! According to my dad and Heather I slept soundly through the night once I fell asleep. Except for when i randomly said "He's just ten feet away!" I do not remember what my dream was about but that's enough.
We are finally in Hefei where we will be staying for a week! Then after Hefei Guanzhou here we come! Its really warm here. Its different, a lot different, The only way I can explain it is think about China Town in NY. Now expand it by a whole country and EVERYTHING is in Chinese. That's the only way to put some grasp on it. As it is One P.M. sunday afternoon here it is One A.M. sunday morning there and most of you are probably tucked into your beds sleeping. At least you better be!
My stomach is starting to hurt, and if anyone knows why it's not fun. Trust me. It sucks majorly. I'm so sick of planes. I'm glad that they won't be necessary for awhile. I will post more later.
Talk to you soon,
Alexandra
